“Bond 25” Suspends Shooting After Craig Injury
Shooting on the troubled new James Bond film has hit another setback.
British tabloid The Sun (via Variety) reports that actor Daniel Craig fell whilst sprinting on the set in Jamaica last week and has been flown to the U.S. for X-rays, which has resulted in a suspension of the film’s shoot.
The newspaper claims Craig was shooting one of his final scenes in Jamaica and slipped and fell quite awkwardly whilst sprinting. They say he was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.
Filming at London’s Pinewood Studios, which had been scheduled to begin at the end of the week, has been cancelled.
This would mark the fourth Bond film Craig has been injured on during its shoot. He lost two teeth on “Casino Royale,” sliced off his fingertip and tore a shoulder muscle for “Quantum of Solace,” and injured his knee on “Spectre.”
The currently untitled “Bond 25” has faced multiple issues from a troubled script to the hiring and departure of Danny Boyle, to several delays. Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing from a script by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
