Alwyn, Dickinson Lead “Souvenir” Sequel
The story follows a shy but privileged film student growing up in the UK in the 1980s and explores her toxic and destructive first relationship with an addict where abuse comes from tiny cuts rather than punches, where microaggressions and excuses for bad behavior that ultimately shatters lives.
The project was also built with a second part in mind and greenlit. While it originally had Robert Pattinson slated to star, he dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and now it has been revealed that Hogg found her replacement in not one but two men.
Hogg reimagined and revised her follow-up and opted to split what was to be Pattinson’s character into two men – one played by Harris Dickinson (“Beach Rats,” “Trust”) and the other by Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things,” “New Mutants”). In addition, Joe Alwyn (“The Favourite,” “Boy Erased”) joined the cast in a separate and unnamed role.
Hogg reportedly has already wrapped filming on “The Souvenir Part II” with A24 to release it sometime in 2020.
